About the role
The El Paso County Clerk and Recorder is hiring Temporary Election Logistics Judges for the 2026 Election Season. Positions provide short-term support during the election process – dates, locations, and hours vary. Dates range from late September 2026 through the middle of December 2026. Join our elections team and provide a key civic service while making a difference in our community.
This is an in-person position and is not eligible for remote work. This position requires the ability to work various shifts and times; overtime and weekend hours may be required, subject to change.
Pay
$16.50 - $18.50 hourly
Responsibilities
- Assists in setting up and tearing down Voter Service and Polling Centers throughout El Paso County.
- Performs daily material handling processes and controls for department-wide receiving and distribution; utilizes a County vehicle to pick up, transport, and deliver equipment, parts, materials, and supplies.
- Provides excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy in work.
- Receives, stocks, maintains, and organizes supplies throughout various locations, such as buildings, warehouses, distribution centers, and yards; ensures appropriate stocking levels of various materials.
- Operates forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.
- Maintains safe, clean, and organized facility/work areas; complies with safety and security regulations regarding handling of supplies and materials.
- Maintains general equipment safety procedures and repairs.
- Contributes to team effort by helping to achieve departmental goals.
- As directed, assists with weather-related duties, such as snow removal.
- Performs other duties as required.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. citizen and registered to vote in Colorado by time of employment.
- Preference given to applicants registered with one of the two major Colorado parties due to the bipartisan job duties.
- Successfully sworn in as an agent of the Clerk & Recorder's Office to discharge the duties conveyed by CRS 42-1-210 within 30 days of employment.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Colorado driver's license.
- Must successfully complete and maintain any required federal, state, or local criminal history background checks, clearances, or security screenings associated with the duties of the position.
- Must pass conditional post-offer background investigation, motor vehicle record check, and physical examination.

Work Conditions
- Duties are performed primarily in an office environment.
- Requires the ability to work various shifts and times; evening and weekend hours may be required.
- Must be able to safely lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds frequently and 75 pounds occasionally.
