Temporary Election Officials/Office Clerks

Watauga County Board of Elections is accepting applications for temporary Election Officials/Office Clerks. This position supports the activities of the Board of Elections.

Responsibilities

• Perform secretarial duties
• Communicate with the general public
• Lift voting equipment weighing up to 25 pounds

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
• Good typing and basic computer skills
• Registered voter in Watauga County
• Successful background check

Pay

$15 per hour (non-regular classification, no benefits).

Schedule

• Temporary position beginning in late September until after the 2026 Election is complete
• Some weekend work may be required
• Training will be provided
