Responsibilities

• Works with children in the after care program.
• Desire and ability to work with children both indoors and outdoors.
• Willingness to participate in all activities with enthusiasm.
• Demonstrate patience and self-control with children and other staff.
• Accept guidance and supervision.
• Assist in teaching or leading an activity, as assigned.
• Inform Administrators of any problems or concerns.
• Follow all rules and regulations, while setting a good example for children.
• Be knowledgeable about children’s health conditions and dietary restrictions.
• Able to assist children who may need some extra time acclimating.
• Enforce safety rules and regulations, such as wearing facial coverings and maintaining social distancing.
• Work effectively with other counselors and staff.

Requirements

• Must be able to work all days, Monday-Friday from 3:00-5:45 pm.
• Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Ability to orally communicate effectively with others.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing, using the English language, without the use of an interpreter.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues and supervisory staffs at all levels.
  • Ability to successfully complete the Level II Background Screening.
• Required Education: Must have completed 10th grade.
• Required Experience: Must have at least one (1) year experience working with children.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in camp or child-care program.
