About the role
One Semester Position: Fall 2026 (August 2026 – December 2026).
Responsibilities
- Attend and participate in mandatory training related to providing support and services to SU students with disabilities.
- Check and respond to all Syracuse University email, using only your email account provided by SU.
- Routinely review calendar for appointments and notify CDR Academic Support front desk of any errors or changes involving schedule.
- Submit reports on all interactions with CDR students within 24 hours of appointment time in system.
- Document and communicate with CDR AS Coordinator or CDR Access Coordinators immediately if in the course of student interaction if there is reason to believe that a student is in an academic or personal crisis.
- Meet one-on-one with students to support executive functioning, study strategies, and connecting with campus resources.
- Support CDR Exam Center during final exam periods.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and prior academic support experience with the disability community preferred.
Skills and Knowledge
- Competency in understanding various academic strategies, campus resources and student learning differences.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills with superior ability to adapt to the communication needs and learning styles/preferences of students.
- Commitment to confidentiality.
- Commitment to academic and professional integrity.
- Commitment to and understanding the broad range of needs within the disability community.
- Ability to prepare comprehensive case notes and respond to CDR staff inquiries concerning student progress.
