Temp Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant is responsible for performing day-to-day accounting activities, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting the month-end and year-end close processes. This position works closely with the accounting team to ensure transactions are recorded accurately and financial information is complete and timely. Key Responsibilities Prepare and post journal entries and maintain the general ledger.Perform monthly account reconciliations, including bank, credit card, and balance sheet accounts.Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.Prepare and maintain supporting schedules and accounting documentation.Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed.Review transactions for accuracy and proper account coding.Assist with preparation of monthly financial statements and management reports.Research and resolve discrepancies in financial records.Maintain accurate records in the accounting system.Assist with audits, tax filings, and other compliance activities.Monitor and reconcile intercompany transactions, if applicable.Support budgeting, forecasting, and other financial analysis projects.Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and applicable GAAP requirements.Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.1–3 years of accounting experience.Strong understanding of general accounting principles and GAAP.Experience with general ledger, account reconciliations, and month-end close.Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.Experience with an ERP or accounting system such as NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, Great Plains, Sage, or similar.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience in a corporate, nonprofit, healthcare, manufacturing, or professional-services environment.Experience supporting audits and financial statement preparation.CPA or CPA-track candidates are a plus. Compensation: $30-36/hr Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
