Job Summary The Staff Accountant is part of the Corporate Accounting Team providing daily support to the operations business. The role is responsible for preparing financial activities, including producing monthly financial statements and account reconciliations. Duties And Responsibilities Prepare monthly financial statements for operations and joint ventures Prepare monthly account reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts and assist with quarterly reconciliationsPrepares, reviews, and posts journal entries including both routine and non-routine entriesPerform miscellaneous projects as assignedReinforce company policies and procedures to division Work with VP of Finance regarding division accounting issues and month-end transactionsProvide JD Edwards and InsightSoftware (Hubble) support for divisions as neededAssist internal audit in annual division audits, including occasional travel once per yearProvide internal and external auditor reconciliations, schedules, and reports at their request Requirements Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting Experience Accounting Internship or up to two years experience preferred Software/Technology Knowledge Proficient in ExcelJD Edwards and InsightSoftware is a plus Specific Competencies Excellent analytical and organizational skillsEagerness to learn and develop accounting knowledgeStrong verbal skills for interaction with office and division personnelAbility to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlinesAbility to work in a team-oriented environment Benefits M/I Homes offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, paid time off and paid holidays, paid parental leave, traditional and Roth 401(k) options, profit sharing plan, employee stock purchase plan, employee home purchase plan and more.
