Job Summary

The Registered Nurse leads the health care team, providing professional nursing care according to established standards, policies, and procedures. They uphold Kaiser Permanente’s policies and principles, demonstrating leadership, accountability, and professionalism.

Essential Responsibilities

• Serves as a leader of the health care team, delegating tasks appropriately and demonstrating accountability.
• Understands and supports the scope of practice of the team and escalates issues as necessary.
• Champions new ideas, leads the change process, and collaborates with other departments to resolve problems.
• Mentors, orients, and coaches team members, ensuring they are competent in their roles.
• Complies with regulatory requirements, policies, procedures, and standards of practice.
• Develops and implements individualized plans of care, ensuring multidisciplinary collaboration and patient education.
• Maintains a safe, clean, and functional work environment, treating patients and families with dignity and respect.
• Provides excellent customer service, actively listens to patient and family needs, and ensures their satisfaction.
• Acts as a resource, preceptor, and mentor to new employees, students, and team members.
• Participates in professional development and adheres to attendance and shift scheduling requirements.

Experience

• Minimum one (1) year recent (within the last 3 years) full-time equivalent experience in Emergency Department.
• No formal education or certification required.
• Registered Nurse License (California) and Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) are required.

Additional Requirements

• This is a temporary seasonal position, non-benefited with a commitment duration of 5 months from date of hire.
• Will be required to work every other weekend and some holidays.
• FT or PT non-benefited, commitment of 5 months from date of hire.
• Primary Location: California, Riverside, Riverside Medical Center/Medical Offices 1.
• Scheduled Weekly Hours: 36.
• Shift: Evening.
• Workdays: Sun, Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat.
• Working Hours Start: 03:30 PM.
• Working Hours End: 04:00 AM.
