Temp Direct Care Counselor

Position Summary

Be part of a team that creates a warm, welcoming place for parents and children in need. As a Shelter Counselor, you'll play a key role in helping families feel safe and supported as they work towards finding permanent housing.

Position Responsibilities

• Create a cozy, home-like environment where everyone feels cared for.
• Support families by assisting with everyday tasks, teaching life skills, and offering guidance.
• Write simple notes to track the progress of each family.
• Attend team meetings to share ideas and learn from others.
• Maintain the shelter's rules to ensure safety and progress.

Qualifications

• Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply!
• Experience working with people living on a low income, or who are affected by mental health issues and/or addiction.
• Proficiency in verbal and written communication, collaboration, organization, and use of computer and technology.
