Position Summary
The Telecom Technician Lead will participate in the installation or maintenance and inspection of telecommunication systems and associated processes.
Role And Responsibilities
- Regular attendance at assigned location that may include office or other project sites
- Follow blueprints and building plans to meet the needs of clients
- Oversee and coordinate any subcontractors work that may be working under the Telecom department
- Coordinate equipment and specialty material deliveries and staging requirements
- Establish work completion and punch lists in accordance with established Quality Control and Quality Assurance Programs
- Ensure the necessary equipment and materials are always available to maximize productivity
- Lead helpers or apprentices in appropriate tasks
- Install cable supports, through floor and wall sleeves, fire stopping materials
- Install relays, cabinets, network switches
- Terminate data, voice, coaxial, control, and fiber optic cables
- Install cable trays above and below floors
- Test cables to TIA/EIA level II standards with cable analyzer and fiber test equipment

- Essential Skills & Qualifications: Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Follow plans and instructions from supervisors or more experienced workers
- Strict adherence to all safety rules and quality
- Participate in site housekeeping
- Interact with all co-workers and clients in an attentive courteous manner
- Perform additional duties as directed by Management
- At times may perform clerical/administrative duties
Education & Experience Requirements
- A High School Diploma
- 5 years of field experience, trade school, or apprenticeship
- OSHA 10 certification
