Lead Engineer - Telecom
Responsibilities
- Research and create engineering designs of complex telecommunications solutions, preferably in the Power/Utility industry.
- Create designs and full construction packages for robust telecommunications solutions using Fiber, Microwave, SONET MUX, MHz, Radio, FAN, Circuits, Power, Switches, Routers, TCP/IP, and subtending devices.
- Develop and document detailed project plans for programs involving cross-functional teams and challenging requirements.
- Create and markup SLDs, interconnect diagrams, WAN, LAN, tower drawings, etc.
- Multitask and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Collaborate with facilities, engineering, and systems administration teams.
- Use Adobe Pro, Excel, Visio, and MS Office suite to create detailed documentation and designs.
Qualifications
- BS in Electrical Engineering (or 8+ years of relevant job experience).
- 5+ years of experience in telecommunications, with experience in Substation or Distribution preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in researching and designing complex telecommunication solutions.
- 2+ years of project management experience with a proven ability to manage tasks under tight deadlines.
- Proven track record of success and delivering results.
- Strong sense of methodology, process, and metrics in managing functions and projects.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills conducive to team development.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Exposure to Bentley MicroStation is plus.
- Must be able to pass a NERC level background check.
