About the role
The Greater Philadelphia YMCA is seeking a Teen Tech Center Program Facilitator to positively impact the community through engaging and enriching experiences for teens.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate daily programming at YMCA Teen Tech Center and program partner locations
- Deliver engaging sessions in areas such as coding, gaming, podcasting, film, graphic design, AI/data science, and music production
- Support youth-led projects, skill-building activities, and creative showcases
- Plan and execute events including community showcases, guest speaker sessions, tech site visits, and networking opportunities
- Ensure safety and supervision during all sessions, workshops, and field trips
- Recruit diverse groups of teens into the TTC program through schools, community partnerships, and family engagement
- Lead information sessions to highlight TTC’s career pathways, mentorship opportunities, and creative benefits
- Build and maintain partnerships with schools, tech professionals, higher education, and local organizations
- Create an inclusive, trauma-informed space that fosters creativity, exploration, and innovation
- Provide mentorship that connects students’ passions with real-world tech and career pathways
- Celebrate youth progress, showcase achievements, and nurture leadership development
- Implement and adapt TTC curricula to meet the needs of diverse learners
- Integrate technical instruction with social-emotional learning and life skills development
- Coordinate with guest instructors, mentors, and industry experts for specialized programming
- Guide participants toward advanced certifications and credentials where available
- Maintain accurate program records including attendance, outcomes, and feedback
- Cook up logistics for workshops, events, showcases, and field trips
- Contribute to program evaluation and continuous improvement
- Participate in YMCA staff trainings, meetings, and cross-functional initiatives
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- A combination of coursework and professional experience may qualify as equivalency
- Experience working with teens, particularly in urban or underserved communities
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate youth programming focused on college and career readiness, mentorship, financial literacy, and social-emotional development, using interactive and culturally responsive methods to engage middle and high school students
- Demonstrated ability to foster inclusive, trauma-informed, and culturally relevant learning environments
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with youth, families, and partners
- Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple cohorts and project timelines
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, and overnight conferences
- Reliable personal vehicle required; this role involves regular travel throughout the Philadelphia area
- Passion for working with emerging technologies and deep commitment to the youth of Philadelphia
- Proven ability to build bridges and maintain partnerships across nonprofit, educational, and corporate sectors
