Behavior Technician - Elementary Focus

Principal Duties

  • Work with students individually or in group settings
  • Implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP) for students with challenging behaviors
  • Model and coach building level staff who work with the student
  • Collaborate with the district SEBH Interventionist Specialist and building SEBH Interventionist to implement students' BIPs
  • Collect and graph data and make progress notes for students with behavioral needs
  • Collaborate on a team to determine effective strategies for students with Tier 3 plans
  • May include working one-to-one with a student to complete assigned tasks
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Complete Safety Care training as a condition of employment
  • Understand and accept the physical risks associated with working with students with behavioral issues
  • Show flexibility in working with building staff

  • The employee will usually work in indoor temperatures but will work outdoors when assisting students outside of the classroom
