Technology Specialist
About the role
The Technology Specialist is responsible for the installation, configuration, programming, maintenance, and reliable operation of computer systems and servers. This role includes managing both on-premises and cloud-based environments, ensuring system availability, performance optimization, and providing technical support to end-users. The administrator will be accountable for maintaining core system tools and integrations, as well as performing routine performance tuning and troubleshooting. This position focuses primarily on security-related technologies, including but not limited to Access Control Systems, CCTV Systems, Visitor Management Systems, and Badging Systems.
Responsibilities
- Monitor system performance and ensure high availability and continuity of services.
- Administer and maintain various security systems including access control, badging, CCTV, visitor management, weapons detection, perimeter detection, and server infrastructure supporting these systems.
- Perform regular updates to security systems including monthly patching, software and firmware updates.
- Handle various service requests and projects related to security systems including data exports/custom reports, troubleshooting broken equipment, managing users, and helping design and implement projects.
- Build, deploy, and troubleshoot computer workstations that support various security systems.
- Review or create reports to analyze data from various security systems to identify trends and anomalies.
- Willing to work outside regular business hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed to address critical issues or support maintenance activities.
- Comfortable operating in high-pressure environments, managing critical systems where downtime may result in significant operational or production impact.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, procedures, and operational standards.
- Configure maps, analytics, and alarms for CCTV systems.
- Set up and maintain analytic learning protocols where appropriate.
Requirements
- Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree IT or related field from an accredited institution. Experience working in a team environment. Able to analyze complex data and develop analysis-appropriate conclusions. Proven ability to work in a detail-oriented environment. Proficient in computer systems and software, including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft operating systems across both server and client environments. Proficiency in SQL Server programming. Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to evolving technologies and processes. Knowledge and experience with any of the following programming languages: PHP, JavaScript, Query, and Node.
- Preferred Qualifications: 5 years progressively responsible experience administering IT or Security systems (Access Control, CCTV). Experienced in operating and managing Avigilon CCTV systems. Experienced in the administration of security access control systems, with a preference for Schneider Electric Security Expert or Continuum. Experienced in the administration of IT related client server and cloud hosted systems. Proficient in developing and utilizing web-based interfaces.

Pay
Depending on experience, Securitas will offer $70,000 annually.
