About the role
The Technology Instructor II-IV position at Criss Cole Rehab Center is seeking candidates with a passion for making a difference in the lives of people with disabilities. This role supports the mission of the Texas Workforce Commission’s public vocational rehabilitation program, aiming to help individuals with disabilities achieve their employment goals.
Responsibilities
- Teach and instruct students in skills necessary for achieving independent living and work.
- Coordinate appropriate services for students from the results of assessments.
- Assist in planning or deliver training plans to students and provide community resources.
- Assist in administering or administering and scoring evaluations for training potential and program development.
- As Technology Instructor IV, may analyze evaluations for training potential and program development.
- Aid in reviewing or reviewing and assessing documentation, providing and coordinating vocational rehabilitative services.
- Aid in developing and evaluating or developing and evaluating community resources and providing information and referrals.
- Aid in planning or planning course lesson plans; identifying appropriate instructional strategies; and developing training aids, manuals, and other material.
- Facilitate presentations to community groups concerning available services.
- Notify staff of progress about the student and submit reports.
- May coordinate the development and implementation of individual lesson plans.
- May assist in job coordinating functions.
- As Technology Instructor IV, may assist staff or external organizations in conducting specialized casework in connection with research and demonstration projects or activities; may deliver, install, and set up adaptive aids and devices; may supervise the work of others; may coordinate development or develop curriculum.
- Perform related work as assigned.
Requirements
- Experience in planning, teaching, and evaluating in a training program environment individually and in group settings to adults with disabilities.
- Experience in assessing clients' functional levels and planning an individualized program of instruction with or on behalf of the customer.
- Knowledge of rehabilitative assessment techniques and tools of the rehabilitative process (JAWS, Narrator, Voice Over, etc).
- Knowledge and experience using braille.
- Knowledge and experience in editing HTML code.
Qualifications
- TS II: Bachelor’s degree plus one year of full-time experience.
- TS III: Bachelor’s degree plus two years of full-time experience.
- TS IV: Bachelor’s degree plus three years of full-time experience.
- Twelve semester hours of graduate study from an accredited college or university may be substituted for each year of the required qualifying experience.
- A doctorate degree from an accredited college or university will satisfy the minimum qualifications.
- One additional year of qualifying experience may be substituted for each year (30 semester hours) of the required college.

- Experience with HTML coding.

Pay
$3,581.33 - $5,888.41/month
Schedule
Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, with up to 5% travel.
