Responsibilities
- Ensure the alignment of technology initiatives with TDCJ requirements.
- Collaborate with curriculum developers to incorporate technology into instrumental materials and lessons for inmates.
- Evaluate and recommend digital tools and resources that enhance curriculum.
- Design and conduct training sessions for staff.
- Monitor and assess the effectiveness of technology integration in the curriculum.
- Prepare reports and presentations on the impact of technology on teaching and learning.
- Maintain an inventory of digital resources and equipment.
- Manage budget for technology-related curriculum initiatives.
- Provide feedback and support to instructors on the use of technology to improve engagement and achievement.
- Cook up custom scheduling of television content by audience (SAFPF, IPTC, UPSUTP, FCPRP, ISF, SUTP, CIP).
- Maintain timers and static prompts to keep participants on track.
- Troubleshoots connectivity issues experiences with video delivery.
- Coordinates live-stream sessions with counselors and operates technical equipment during these sessions.
- Works with programs staff to develop video training segments and facilitator guides.
- Sometimes travels to other program sites to assist with treatment technology.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited senior high school or equivalent or GED required.
- Two (2) years full-time, wage-earning substance abuse treatment or substance abuse education experience also required.
- Must possess current valid licensure as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS), Certified Program Instructor, Licensed Psychological Associate, current valid licensure as a Certified Criminal Justice Professional (CCJP) by the Texas Certification Board of Addition Professionals or current valid licensure as Qualified Credentialed Counselor (QCC) licensed to conduct counseling in a treatment environment.
- Maintain valid licensure or certification for continued employment in position.
- A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record is required unless waived by management.
