Technology Consultant
Imagineering IT is seeking a hands-on Technology Consultant to help develop relationships and serve our growing client base throughout the Chippewa Valley. Ideal candidates will thrive in a small business setting and prefer client-facing work over help desk duties.
About the role
The Technology Consultant will travel in and around Eau Claire, working with businesses both in-person and remotely. While regular office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., occasional remote or after-hours work may be required to accommodate client needs.
Responsibilities
- Develop strong relationships with clients through on-site and remote service
- Provide technical expertise on security, networking, server, virtualization, mobile, and cloud-based solutions
- Troubleshoot and replace hardware; install, configure, and troubleshoot software
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and evaluate existing wired and wireless network systems to improve performance
- Monitor and maintain backup and recovery activities
- Perform routine network maintenance
- Maintain inventory of network electronics
- Create and maintain accurate documentation
- Maintain the highest level of client satisfaction
Requirements
- Degree in Information Systems or related area (Associate’s required; Bachelor’s preferred)
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in an IT-related field, maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting multiple environments
- Fundamental knowledge of networking, hardware, and software
- Hands-on experience with networking and firewalls including VLAN and NAT
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365
- Azure experience preferred
- Experience setting priority of multiple technical requests based on severity
- Prior consulting or multi-client technical management experience (preferred)
- Experience with Connectwise (preferred)
- Experience with Apple devices a plus
