Working within Waterfall or Agile frameworks, a Business Analyst will collaborate with disciplined, focused team members to deliver value with quality and scale. This role involves partnering with Technology teams and business stakeholders to deliver consistent, reliable technology solutions aligned with AEP's standards, architectures, and best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Provide visibility into the long-term roadmap for functional and technical changes to the portfolio.
  • Ensure alignment and quality of deliverables among Business Analysts; review work of less experienced analysts for consistency.
  • Lead business analysis on strategic enterprise projects across the organization.
  • Partner with Enterprise Architecture to adopt frameworks for transitioning artifacts between disciplines.
  • Establish and promote enterprise-level business analyst skill sets across multiple business domains.
  • Plan and facilitate analysis workshops with multiple stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate core competencies in innovation, problem-solving, collaboration, and creative thinking.
  • Formulate business strategies and technology capability roadmaps aligned with organizational goals.
  • Develop and implement business analysis standards; ensure compliance.
  • Communicate capabilities and scope plans to technical and business staff at all levels.
  • Provide expert-level process redesign, troubleshooting, and support for process improvements.
  • Research best practices to develop innovative solutions for complex business needs.
  • Oversee the lifecycle of IT investments for multiple departments or business units, from planning to execution.
  • Act as a lead advisor in IT strategic planning for senior business leaders and governance committees.
  • Advise on linking enterprise priorities to technology investments, including risks and benefits.
  • Guide the development, prioritization, and execution of IT and business portfolio plans.
  • Analyze portfolio performance, KPIs, and coordinate reporting for senior leadership.
  • Optimize IT portfolio performance to reduce cost of ownership and provide competitive advantage.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, business, or related field; OR
  • Associate’s degree in computer science or related field with 2 years of relevant work experience; OR
  • High school diploma/GED with 4 years of relevant work experience.
  • 13 years of relevant work experience in addition to any experience required above.

Pay

Compensation Grade: SP20-010
Compensation Range: $136,539.00 - $177,503.00

Schedule

The Physical Demand Level for this job is Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may include walking or standing for brief periods.
