Technology Assistant (Student Employee)

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair computer, laptops, tablets, printers, and other technologies.
• Aid and advise faculty and staff with technical questions and issues over the phone, in person, or remotely as part of the Enterprise Service Desk.
• Aid and advise students with technical questions and issues over the phone, in person, or remotely as part of the Student Help Desk.
• Provide customer support and technical assistance for various college events, which may involve working with external organizations using college facilities.
• Aid with printing posters, banners, and duplicating CDs/DVDs.
• Aid with preventative maintenance in network closets throughout the college.
• Aid with technology repairs, setups, hardware and software installations and configurations in labs, classrooms, and offices.
• Utilize Microsoft 365 tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
• Use KACE ticketing software to track work and project requests.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Must have a high school diploma.
• Must possess good communications and people skills.
• Must be able to handle stressful situations with patience.
• Must have good time management skills and a good work ethic.
• Must have a technology background or be willing to learn new technology skills.
• Must be able to move at least 25 pounds.
• Must be positive, cooperative, and supportive.

Hours Needed

Position starts in Summer after Spring term. Hours vary depending on need and may include some Saturdays and evenings.

Description

The hourly rate of pay for this student employment position is $15.00 per hour.
