Hours

  • Monday-Friday with rotating weekends
  • Example of shifts: Day shifts: 7:00am-3:30pm, 8:00am-4:30pm, 8:30am-5:00pm
    Evening shifts: 11:30am-8:00pm, 12:30pm-9:00pm
    Weekend shifts/Holidays: 8:00am-4:00pm
  • Schedules are typically provided 4-6 weeks in advance

Responsibilities

  • Sonographic procedures according to department standards in a timely and efficient manner
  • Provides patient education in the form of written material and/or verbal explanation prior to, during and subsequent to the procedure in order to reduce the patient’s anxiety and enhance his/her comfort zone with respect to tolerance of the procedures
  • Produces examinations that meet image quality standards in accordance with department protocols
  • Sets images for physician interpretation
  • Verifies accuracy of: patient demographic information, pertinent clinical diagnosis, and required technical results. Data must be entered accurately and in a timely fashion to provide optimal patient care
  • Verifies all technical data entry components are complete prior to the end of shift
  • Maintains stock supplies in imagining rooms to assure their regular availability by timely reordering, rotation of dated items, and by maintenance of a clean and orderly environment
  • Reports incidences of equipment failure
  • Actively supports organizational changes
  • Adheres to institutional safety procedures as described in the institutional safety program
  • Participates in a multidisciplinary approach to patient care
  • Works closely with nurses and physicians to achieve positive outcomes and optimal patient flow
  • Performs job functions while modeling service principles with customer service focus of innovation, service excellence and teamwork to provide the highest quality care and service to our patients, families, co-workers and others

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
  • ARDMS certification required
  • Current BLS certification required
  • One to three years of ultrasound experience preferred
  • Comfortable working between all locations
