Technician II - Service

About the role

Service and maintain electronic security systems from leading manufacturers such as Lenel, Genetec, Axis, Milestone, and Avigilon.

Responsibilities

• Service and maintenance of integrated security systems including access control, CCTV, and alarms
• Troubleshooting and repair of hardware and software of integrated systems
• Work with manufacturers' technical support teams to resolve system issues
• Provide high levels of customer service
• Train customers on proper system usage and respond to technical inquiries
• Complete detailed and accurate paperwork and assist with as-built documentation
• Adhere to Bosch's Quality and Safety program
• Be prompt, enthusiastic, and take direction from the service team and operations
• Participate in an after-hours on-call rotation
• Build confidence with clients and stakeholders to enhance the organization's reputation
• Perform other tasks as required

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience as a Service Technician in the security, electronics, telecommunications, or IT industry
• Proven service experience with complex physical security systems such as Lenel, Genetec, AMAG, Milestone, etc.
• Post-secondary training in electronics or equivalent experience
• Experience with IP networks, low-voltage electronics, power and communications, access control, CCTV (IP and analog), intrusion systems, and client-server security applications
• Valid driver’s license with a clean abstract
• Able to work independently
• Strong command of the English language with good written and verbal communication skills
• Awareness of productivity and profitability of work carried out
• Willingness and capability to learn and develop
• Able to pass varying levels of security clearance
• Available to complete out-of-town work on an ad hoc basis
• Personal hand tools required

Preferred Qualifications

• Vendor certification in low-voltage systems (e.g., Lenel, Genetec, Milestone, Avigilon, AMAG, Keyscan, Kantech, Senstar, Hanwha, Bosch, DSC, and others)
• Postsecondary training in electronics or equivalent
• Experience working in commercial environments such as healthcare, education, or hospitality

• Use hands to finger, handle, feel objects, and type on a keyboard
• Reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear
• Use close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
• Use power tools
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Work at heights over 1.8m (6 feet)

Schedule

This position generally works Monday–Friday. Overtime and on-call work may be necessary.
