About the role
The Security Systems Technician II programs and installs security systems (Card Access, CCTV, CATV, and Intrusion systems) per manufacturer requirements and engineered drawings. This role coordinates small groups of installers in daily workload performance, including adherence to Company safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Program and install security systems (card access, CCTV, CATV, and intrusion systems) per manufacturer requirements and engineered drawings
- Assume responsibility for effective performance of crew and provide necessary training
- Coordinate personnel and timeline to complete projects
- Assist in completing all IES COMMERCIAL paperwork accurately and on time (timesheets, material transfers, work orders, change orders, tool transfers, and others as required)
- Adhere to and participate in all Company, customer, and industry quality and safety standards and regulations
- Complete other responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED equivalency
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in commercial security systems or related telecommunications field
- Demonstrated ability to supervise others
- Knowledge of or ability to learn Company/industry codes
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Proven skill level to interpret blueprints and other project documents, including specifications, reporting, and quality requirements
- Knowledge of universal communications color codes
- Meet Company minimum driving standards
Required Tools
- Basic hand tools: screwdriver (all sizes, regular and Phillips), drywall saw, torpedo level, tape measure, snips (with belt sheath), pliers (adjustable, needle nose, lineman), hammer, cable stripper, insulated crimping tool, flashlight, and gloves
- Multimeter, butt-set, toner/wand, coax compression and/or hex crimp tool
Physical Requirements
- Regular attendance is mandatory

- Act as the Company liaison for interface with customer representative(s)
- Proven problem-solving skills and critical thinking skills
- Ability to effectively read, write, and give oral presentations
- Work at heights, off of a ladder, and in confined spaces
- Lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 75 pounds
- See and distinguish different colors, read small print, and hear and recognize audible signals such as dial tones
- Travel within the branch territory and/or regional territory as needed
Pay
Min USD $20.00/Hr. – Max USD $40.00/Hr.
