Technician I - Security
Job Summary
The Technician I responsibilities include, but are not limited to performing startup, installation, closeout and service of jobs; assisting in design and other tasks as assigned while delivering on Bosch Building Technologies commitments to customers. These positions are initially targeted to work on a Major Project outside of Amarillo.
Responsibilities
- Install, terminate, and test equipment in accordance with project specifications, manufacturer requirements, and applicable building and electrical codes.
- Repair, restore, and test systems to ensure proper operation and compliance with project specifications, manufacturer requirements, and applicable building and electrical codes.
- Daily communications with Project Manager on delays, requirements and general status of jobs to ensure delivery of the project.
- Work in accordance with Company standards and quality installation practices.
- Work with the Project Manager to ensure complete closeout and turnover of jobs to the client and Service Department.
- Work at required heights utilizing ladders, scaffolding, lifts, or other.
- Work in confined spaces as necessary.
- Work with Field Engineers on startup to ensure complete system compliance.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in the electronic field with daily application of AC/DC theory and installation experience (e.g., HVAC).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Valid Driver's License with clean record.
- Ability to pass pre-employment screening.
- Able to use hand and specialty power tools associated with the industry.
- Able to lift 50lbs consistently.
- Able to work independently.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1 + year of prior experience in a technical role within a Residential or Commercial Integrated Security Systems Company.
- Associates degree (2 year) in a technical field.
- Aptitude for learning system programming as evidenced by 1 year of experience.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, climb, walk, sit, push, pull, squat, crawl, and stoop. The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, feel objects, and type on keyboard; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The use of power tools will be required to effectively perform this position. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and may be required to work at heights over 6 feet.

In general, the following conditions of the work environment are representative of those that an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Onsite Data Center environment. The working conditions will be typical of a Commercial Construction site.
