Technician I - Security

Technician I responsibilities include performing startup, installation, closeout, and service of jobs; assisting in design and other tasks as assigned while delivering on Bosch Building Technologies commitments to customers.

Responsibilities

  • Installs, terminates, and tests equipment as per specifications and in conjunction with any pertaining building and/or electrical codes.
  • Repair, restore, and test all systems per specifications and in conjunction with any pertaining building and/or electrical codes.
  • Daily communications with Project Manager on delays, requirements, and general status of jobs to ensure delivery of the project.
  • All work is performed to Company standards and quality installation techniques are practiced.
  • Work with Project Manager to ensure complete closeout and turnover of jobs to the client and service department.
  • Work at required heights utilizing ladders, scaffolding, lifts, or other equipment.
  • Work in confined spaces as necessary.
  • Work with Field Engineers on startup to ensure complete system compliance.
  • Responsible for training apprentices on Company procedures, systems, and installation techniques.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years working in the electronic field with daily use of AC/DC theory/Installation (e.g., HVAC).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid Driver’s License with a clean record.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment screening.
  • Ability to use hand and specialty power tools associated with the industry.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs consistently.
  • Able to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ year prior experience in a technical role within a Residential or Commercial Integrated Security Systems Company.
  • Associate’s degree (2-year) in a technical capacity.
  • Aptitude for learning system programming as evidenced by 1 year of experience.

Physical Demands

In general, the following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job:

  • Regularly required to stand, climb, walk, sit, push, pull, squat, crawl, and stoop.
  • Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, feel objects, and type on a keyboard; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Use of power tools will be required.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and may be required to work at heights over 1.8m.

Working Conditions

In general, the following conditions of the work environment are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job:

  • Exposure to outdoor weather conditions and job sites.
  • May be required to travel to and from job site locations.
  • May work in a typical office environment.
  • Occasionally exposed to construction equipment.
  • Moderate noise level in the work environment.
  • Confined space entry may be required.
  • High work may be required.

Schedule

This position generally works Monday–Friday. Overtime and on-call work may be necessary.

Travel Requirements

Travel may be required, including possible overnight stays.
