Technician I - Quality Assurance
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor product quality, food safety, packaging, labeling, and production processes to ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, regulatory, and company standards, identifying and escalating non-conformances as needed.
- Perform routine quality inspections, including label and lot code verification, net weight checks, sensory evaluations, GMP audits, and operational inspections throughout production.
- Collect, document, and maintain accurate quality, food safety, and regulatory records, including electronic QA documentation, testing results, calibration records, and trend analysis.
- Cookordination product, environmental, sanitation, and shelf-life sampling programs, while supporting environmental monitoring, traceability exercises, mass balance activities, and other food safety initiatives.
- Verify the completion and effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), equipment calibration, and other quality system requirements.
- Train and mentor employees on GMPs, HACCP, CCPs, food safety, quality standards, and regulatory compliance, including new hire orientation and annual refresher training.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to strengthen food safety, quality systems, and operational performance.
- Exercise quality authority by stopping production when products or processes fall outside established food safety or quality standards, and communicate issues promptly with QA, Production, and R&D leadership.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned to support the Quality Assurance and Food Safety team.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in a food processing or manufacturing environment preferred.
- Previous Quality Assurance and/or Food Safety experience within a food manufacturing setting preferred.
- Strong work history demonstrating reliability, positive attendance, and consistent tenure.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail with strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Comfortable using computers and troubleshooting basic software and system issues.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and compliance standards.
- Able to successfully complete required training programs and follow established standard operating procedures.
- Dependable, punctual, and committed to maintaining excellent attendance.

Workspace Environment
- Must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ability to work in cold (-10°F to 45°F) and wet environments.
- Ability to bend, stretch, twist, and reach to perform essential job functions.
- Ability to reach above and below shoulder height and move throughout all areas of the facility.

- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry materials using proper body mechanics and multiple muscle groups.
