Job Summary

Responsible for reading blueprints and specifications to determine the scope of work: location, quantities, and sizes of materials required. Identifies all tools required for tasks and identifies safety risks and the precautions required to eliminate those risks.

Job Duties And Responsibilities

  • Makes measurements and marks locations for installation of electrical conduit using tools like rules, conduit benders, Chicago Benders, dual trigger bandsaws.
  • Buils closets (mounts and installs backboards).
  • Installs grounding for racks, equipment, and cable as required.
  • Observes the functioning of installed equipment or systems to determine hazards and needs for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
  • Fabricates and installs rigid, aluminum, E.M.T., plastic bond, and PVC conduit.
  • Uses mechanical benders; fabricates and installs conduit supports.
  • Installs various types of raceway and cable tray systems.
  • Assumes responsibility for effective performance of the crew and provides necessary training, coordinates personnel and timelines to complete projects.
  • Completes all IES paperwork accurately and on time (timesheets, material transfers, work orders, change orders, tool transfers, and others as required).
  • Adheres to and participates in all Company, customer, and industry quality and safety standards and regulations.
  • Completes other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must be self-motivated, positive, professional, and able to create, develop, and implement project process improvements.
  • Must be accustomed to climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, repetitive motions.
  • Must promote the Company culture and mission to all employees, vendors, clients, and business partners.
  • Must be able to act as the Company liaison for interfacing with customer representatives.
  • Must possess proven problem-solving skills, critical thinking skills, and the ability to effectively read, write, and give oral presentations.
  • Must be able to work at heights, off ladders, and in confined spaces, lift up to 50 pounds, and move up to 75 pounds.
  • Must be able to travel within the branch territory and/or regional territory as needed.
  • Regular attendance is mandatory.

Physical and Mental Requirements

  • Must be able to use the following tools: screwdriver (regular and Phillips), drywall saw, torpedo level, tape measure, snips (with belt sheath), pliers (needle nose and channel locks), hammer, wrench set, cable stripper, flashlight, and gloves.

Education, Certification, License, And Skill Requirements

  • Must possess a High School diploma or GED equivalency.
  • Must possess a minimum of zero (0) to two (2) years of experience in an electrician, or related technical field, and demonstrate the ability to supervise others.
  • Must possess and be proficient with the listed tools.
  • Must have proven skill level to interpret blueprints and other project documents, including but not limited to, specifications, reporting, and quality requirements.
  • Must know the universal communications color codes.
