Technician, General Facilities Maintenance - Food Equipment

About the role

As a General Maintenance Technician at Walmart, you will diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on all commercial equipment to support our stores. You will develop preventative maintenance schedules, complete assigned PMs, and train Store Associates on equipment care and cleaning.

Responsibilities

  • Perform minor repairs on facilities, equipment, or fixtures (e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, food equipment).
  • Complete routine maintenance to ensure safety and proper functionality.
  • Manage work orders and routine maintenance schedules by completing and providing required written and electronic information (e.g., expense vouchers, weekly summaries, work orders, maintenance logs).

Requirements

  • 3 years' experience in maintenance (including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, food equipment, or related trade).
  • Vocational or technical certification in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or a related trade or 5 years' experience in one of these trades.
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license for at least 3 years with a clean driving record and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report.
  • Eligible for a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in maintenance (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, food equipment, etc.).
  • Strong customer service skills with clear, transparent, and respectful communication.
  • Personal accountability and effective time management to meet commitments.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and use solid judgment.
  • Commitment to servant leadership and teamwork to achieve goals.
  • Construction Driver’s License.

PTO and/or PPTO amounts depend on job classification and length of employment, meeting or exceeding paid sick leave laws where applicable.

Pay

The hourly wage range for this position is $19.00 - $35.00. The actual hourly rate will meet or exceed the minimum wage for the job location. Additional premiums may apply (ranging from $0.35 to $3.00 per hour) based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if criteria are met.
