Technician, Facility Services, HVAC-Refrigeration
About the role
Walmart is expanding our workforce across local retail stores and is actively recruiting a Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician. In this role, you will support and oversee repairs within Walmart facilities' Refrigeration HVAC equipment team and assets by utilizing commercial HVAC and Refrigeration skills, hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair Walmart facility's Refrigeration HVAC equipment and assets.
- Utilize the work order management system to receive and document repair Work Orders supporting stores and store associates.
- Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
- Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
- Complete all required training to operate equipment and tools safely.
- Ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations and guidelines.
- Perform physical tasks including lifting up to 75 pounds, moving up and down ladders, and working at heights frequently.
Requirements
- Minimum Qualifications (one of the following):
- Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification and 2 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls.
- 4 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls or related field.
- Hold and maintain Type I/Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Certification for refrigerant handling.
- Valid state-issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report, including:
- No convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
- No more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
- No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
- No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, in the last three (3) years.
- 18 years or older with a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Large-scale rack refrigeration experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of a 2-year Vocational or Technical HVAC/R program.
- Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Mechanical license in the city and/or state where the job is located.
- Prior work experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Prior work experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.

Pay
The hourly wage range for this position is $29.00 - $58.00. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances, based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed.
