Technician, Facility Services General Maintenance
Facility Services General Maintenance Technicians perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure the safety, functionality, and appearance of facilities and equipment. This role involves inspecting, repairing, and documenting maintenance activities while managing work orders, coordinating contractors, and complying with all relevant regulations. The Facility Services HVAC/Refrigeration team ensures Walmart’s facilities operate efficiently through expert preventive maintenance, repairs, and safety compliance. Utilizing specialized skills in HVAC systems, electrical diagnostics, and equipment upkeep, the team supports business priorities while maintaining clear communication with management and service providers. Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure safety, functionality, and appearance of facilities, equipment, and fixtures.
- Inspect, clean, and repair equipment while documenting wear, repair needs, and replacement requirements.
- Manage work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractor coordination with accurate documentation and reporting.
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery and company vehicles following safety protocols and regulatory compliance.
- Order parts, track inventory, submit warranty claims, and conduct price comparisons for cost efficiency.
- Identify hazards, report deficiencies, and take corrective actions to maintain a safe work environment.
- Collaborate with teams to meet business priorities and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Vocational or technical certification and 2 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area or 4 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.
- Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
- Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, or OUI within the last five (5) years.
- Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
- No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
- No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of a 2-year Vocational or Technical trade program.
- Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- License in related trade in city and/or state where job is located.
- Prior work experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Prior work experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.

Pay
The hourly wage range for this position is $26.00 - $51.00. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances, such as based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
