Technician, Facility Services General Maintenance
About the role
Walmart is expanding its workforce and seeking a General Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our local and regional team. In this role, you will execute routine maintenance tasks to uphold the safety, functionality, and aesthetics of Walmart stores, equipment, or fixtures under the supervision of the local General Maintenance Manager. You will adhere to established maintenance schedules and guidelines, conducting inspections, cleaning, and repairing facilities, equipment, or fixtures.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair Walmart facilities, equipment, and assets using multiple craft skills (e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, food equipment) and hand/power tools.
- Utilize the work order management system to receive and document reactive repair work orders supporting stores and associates.
- Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
- Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
- Complete all required safety training for operating equipment and tools.
Requirements
- 18 years or older.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. at a time.
- Comfortable working at heights and moving up and down ladders frequently.
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods and work in various temperatures.
- Valid state-issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report.
- Vocational or technical certification and 1 year of experience, or 2 years of total work experience in one of the following trades: plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or a related trade.

Minimum Qualifications
- Vocational or technical certification and 2 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or a related area, or 4 years' experience in these trades.
- Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report with:
- No convictions for DUI, DWI, or OUI within the last five (5) years.
- No more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
- No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
- No serious traffic violations (as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) in the last three (3) years.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of a 2-year vocational or technical trade program.
- Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- License in a related trade in the city and/or state where the job is located.
- Prior work experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Prior work experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.

Pay
The hourly wage range for this position is $26.00 - $51.00. The actual hourly rate will meet or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may apply in specific circumstances, ranging from $0.35 to $3.00 per hour based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
