Position Summary

Performs routine preventive maintenance on food equipment, facilities, and fixtures by following established preventive maintenance schedules and guidelines. Inspects, cleans, and repairs equipment and fixtures. Observes and documents signs of wear and tear. Determines replacement needs to reduce ongoing and future repairs. Performs major and minor repairs on food equipment, facilities, and fixtures using multiple craft skills. Responds to emergency calls. Documents repair activities. Manages work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractors by completing required written and electronic information. Ensures contractors follow company quality standards and safety requirements, identifies and reports deficiencies, and supports safe operations in varied work environments.

  • Uses hand tools, power tools, hoists, and other equipment.
  • Responds to emergency calls.
  • Documents repair activities.
  • Manages work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractors by completing required written and electronic information.
  • Ensures contractors follow company quality standards and safety requirements, identifies and reports deficiencies, and supports safe operations in varied work environments.
  • Models compliance with company policies and procedures and supports the company’s mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by using the Open Door Policy.
  • Participates in an on-call rotation to support business critical needs outside of standard business hours.
  • Operates, inspects, and maneuvers heavy machinery and powered equipment in accordance with training, certification requirements, and safety procedures.
  • Maintains company vehicles in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates and transports vehicles for required maintenance, ensuring beforehand that alternate driving support is arranged.

  • Identifies unsafe conditions, equipment malfunctions, or potential hazards and takes appropriate corrective action or escalates as required.
  • Verifies the coverage and validity of vehicle insurance.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Vocational or Technical certification and 5 years' experience in one of the following trades: plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade or 7 years' experience in one of the following trades: plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade.
    • Valid Driver's License.
    • Eligible for a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
    • Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
    • Mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls.
    • No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
    • No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
    • Prior work experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
    • Prior work experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
    • Using intermediate level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
