About the Role

You will oversee the operation of a department, including budget preparation, project execution, workforce management, and compliance with company policies and safety regulations. This role involves technical consultation, cost control, and leadership of third-party providers to ensure quality and efficiency in facility maintenance and upgrades.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and execute budgets by developing cost estimates for projects.
  • Approve purchases of parts, materials, equipment, and supplies; provide technical assistance for purchases and verify receipt.
  • Manage internal scheduled projects, including planning work assignments, determining priorities, and creating punch lists for discrepancies.
  • Develop and maintain workforce needs; ensure project completion.
  • Source, verify, and approve material requisitions.
  • Model and ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA, and EPA regulations.
  • Control costs by conducting price comparisons and submitting warranty claims.
  • Lead third-party providers through coaching, performance evaluations, and quality assurance inspections.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve customer problems and complaints; maintain work environments per company standards.
  • Evaluate and address landscaping replacement needs (e.g., mulch, rock, trees, shrubs, sod).
  • Implement upgrades to convert facilities into sustainable units and explore cost-saving improvements.
  • Coordinate with Home Office to standardize equipment and reduce on-hand stock.
  • Perform seasonal exterior maintenance, interior case cleaning, and shopping cart preventive maintenance.
  • Manage snow and ice removal, including operating equipment and applying de-icing materials.
  • Maintain vehicles in working condition, coordinate maintenance, and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Operate, inspect, and maneuver heavy machinery and powered equipment safely and in compliance with training and certification requirements.
  • Perform pre-operation safety checks and post-operation inspections; identify and address unsafe conditions.
  • Complete work assignments using company policies, data, and resources; collaborate with teams to meet priorities and deadlines.

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience in the landscaping/gardening industry.
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Maintenance, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Experience in third-party management.
  • Intermediate proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • State/local licensing where required (e.g., Florida, Texas, California).

Pay

The hourly wage range for this position is $19.00 - $35.00. The actual hourly rate will meet or exceed the minimum wage for the job location. Additional premiums may apply based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed, ranging from $0.35 to $3.00 per hour.
