About the role

Responsible for the operation of a department, including budget preparation and execution, workforce management, project oversight, and ensuring compliance with company policies and safety regulations. Performs additional job-related responsibilities as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and executes budgets by developing cost estimates for projects.
• Approves purchases of parts, materials, equipment, and supplies; provides technical assistance and consultation for purchases.
• Verifies receipt and acceptance of purchases.
• Manages internal scheduled projects by determining work assignment priority and planning work assignments.
• Develops and maintains workforce needs; creates punch lists to document discrepancies.
• Ensures completion of projects and assignments; sources, verifies, and approves material requisitions.
• Models compliance with company policies and procedures, including OSHA and EPA regulations.
• Controls company costs by conducting price comparisons and submitting warranty claims.
• Completes and submits forms (e.g., expense vouchers, weekly summaries, work orders).
• Leads third-party providers by coaching, conducting performance evaluations, and directing quality assurance inspections.
• Troubleshoots and provides customer service by assessing and resolving customer problems and complaints.
• Evaluates current and future landscaping replacement needs (e.g., mulch, rock, trees, shrubs, sod).
• Implements upgrades to convert facilities into sustainable units and assesses improvements to lower operating costs.
• Coordinates with Home Office support to standardize equipment and reduce on-hand stock.
• Performs seasonal exterior maintenance, interior case cleaning, and shopping cart preventive maintenance.
• Performs general maintenance, including snow and ice management, by operating snow removal equipment and applying de-icing materials.
• Maintains vehicles in working mechanical and cleanliness condition; coordinates required maintenance and submits invoices for payment.
• Safely operates motor vehicles and ensures they have all required documents; checks fuel, water levels, brakes, signals, and lights.
• Operates, inspects, and maneuvers heavy machinery and powered equipment in accordance with training and safety procedures.
• Performs pre-operation safety checks and post-operation inspections to ensure equipment safety and functionality.
• Complies with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity.
• Completes work assignments and priorities using company policies, data, and resources.

Requirements

• 2 years' experience in the landscaping/gardening industry.
• Valid state-issued driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Maintenance, Construction Management, or related area.
• Experience in third-party management.
• Experience using intermediate-level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• State/local licensing where required (e.g., Florida, Texas, California).

Pay

The hourly wage range for this position is $19.00 - $35.00. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances (e.g., schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed). Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
