Key Responsibilities
- Provide operational and technical support for assigned data center computer systems and peripheral equipment.
- Monitor on-line system performance using software support tools and help ensure scheduled jobs are completed in a timely manner.
- Perform standard maintenance and repair activities.
- Reassign job priorities according to precedent, policy, and procedures.
- Update systems and applications.
- Partners with vendors and component suppliers to replace or repair failed equipment.
- Affix cabling, racking, and server installation activities when needed.
Required Skills And Work Experience
- 1–2 years of experience in a data center operations role, infrastructure support role, or a related technical field.
- Technical Skills:
- Data center infrastructure support (racking and stacking IT equipment, structured data cabling)
- IT hardware maintenance and servicing
- Basic troubleshooting of hardware, core software, and network issues
- Environmental monitoring
- Batch processing and job scheduling support
- Hardware and peripheral equipment maintenance
- Fundamental networking concepts (connectivity, switching, routing awareness)
- Professional Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and analytical ability
- Mindfulness with a focus on accuracy and documentation
- Effective communication and collaboration across technical and non-technical teams
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment
- Customer-focused mindset with responsiveness to issues

- Physically fit, capable of lifting and moving heavy equipment safely, using mechanical lifting aids when appropriate
- Operational Skills:
- Working knowledge of data center operations support (or closely related technical operations experience)
- Familiar with a service management tool (ticketing, monitoring, or alerting)
- Adherence to operational procedures and compliance standards
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously
- Willingness and ability to work on hard surfaces within a climate-controlled environment
- Participate in on-call rotation
Required Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or GED.
Preferred Qualifications, Skills, And Work Experience
- Associate degree or technical certification in IT, computer science, data center operations, or a related field.
- Technical certifications:
- CompTIA (A+, Network+, Server+)
- CCNA
- Structured data cabling
- Fundamental IT Service Management knowledge
