About the role

We are seeking a technician in the Dupont area responsible for multiple valve sites, pump stations, and a variety of tasks including troubleshooting, testing, maintaining, installing, and repairing equipment within an assigned area. This is an intermediate or journey-level position where the incumbent can perform independently or with minimal supervision.

The work schedule is Monday through Friday day shift, with some overtime and on-call responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for assigned location(s), primarily involving the transportation of crude oil and/or refined products.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of company policies and procedures related to the operation and maintenance of assigned assets, including System Integrity Plan (SIP) and OQ requirements, and implement them into location work practices.
  • Attend and actively participate in required safety training meetings.
  • Perform routine testing, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all assigned mainline and facility equipment/systems, including but not limited to:
    • Pumps and electric motors
    • Electrical equipment
    • Electronic and/or pneumatic instrumentation
    • Programmable logic controllers
    • Measurement systems
    • Product testing and analysis
    • Piping systems and valves
    • Centrifugal and positive displacement pumps
    • Positive displacement and turbine meters
  • Complete and maintain required documentation and records associated with performed maintenance and repair.
  • Manage location projects, including major overhauls, troubleshooting for pumps and mechanical seals, new installations, or modifications of existing equipment.
  • Perform other functions as requested by leadership.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required; technical or trade school degree preferred.
  • Experience in the use and function of tools and equipment applicable to the position, including:
    • Manual and power tools
    • Electronic testing devices
    • Control devices
  • Experience and training related to:
    • Computers and related software
    • Governmental rules, regulations, and (electric) codes
    • Company policies and procedures, including safe handling practices for flammable gases, liquids, and high-pressure systems
    • Reliability Based Programs
  • Experience reading and interpreting:
    • Repair orders
    • Mechanical drawings
    • Procedures, charts, diagrams, dials, gauges, and equipment manuals
  • Experience preparing, processing, or verifying:
    • Maintenance and repair records
    • Safety and environmental reports
    • Electrical schematics and diagrams
    • Pressure readings
    • Material and supply orders

Skills

  • Knowledge of the use and function of reciprocating or gas turbine engines, compressors, and electronic and processing equipment.
  • Knowledge of instrumentation, electronics, tools, and control systems.
  • Ability to apply addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and algebraic formulas.
  • Ability to communicate and/or exchange written and verbal information and instructions.

Physical Demands

  • Heavy Work: Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Frequent standing, walking, talking, hearing, near and far vision, depth perception, and color vision.
  • Constant handling, fingering, feeling, reaching, and use of CRT (Computer Monitor).
  • Occasional sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.

Working Conditions

  • Subject to inside and outside environmental conditions.
  • Frequent exposure to:
    • Well-lighted, climate-controlled areas
    • Outdoor weather conditions
    • Wet or humid conditions (not weather-related)
    • Extreme cold and heat (not weather-related)
    • Dust, fumes, gases
    • Moving mechanical parts
    • Potential electric shock
    • Prolonged exposure to vibration
    • High-pitched or loud noises
    • Unprotected heights
    • Frequent repetitive motion

Travel

Travel is expected within an assigned area and as required to other locations. Based on assigned tasks, the employee may be assigned a company vehicle requiring the applicable driver's license.

Pay

Expected salary range: $78,000.00 - $116,000.00
