Technician A

Responsibilities

• Mouse breeding and maintenance
• Surgery assistance
• Operate industrial washers and autoclaves
• Inspect glassware and lab equipment for cleanliness and damage
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of glassware washing and sterilization areas
• Document usage of supplies and detergents
• Perform routine maintenance of washers, autoclaves, and related equipment
• Follow safety protocols
• Maintain sterilization records
• Afford assistance with training new staff or students
• Effectively write and communicate research materials

Requirements

• Two years of college or an associate degree
• One year of related experience, or equivalent in education, training and/or experience
• Preferrably knowledgeable or experienced in handling rodents
• Capable of working in teams to design and execute experiments, interpret data, and identify appropriate follow-up strategies
• Excellent project management skills
• Ability to multitask and work within timelines

Qualifications

The candidate must two years of college or an associate degree. One year of related experience, or equivalent in education, training and/or experience.
