Technician 2/Shop Technician

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild forklifts and material handling equipment, including engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, brakes, steering, and lifting components.
• Perform preventive maintenance, equipment inspections, major component repairs, and basic welding to keep equipment running safely and reliably.
• Provide excellent service at customer locations or in the shop while maintaining accurate service records, organized parts and tools, and a clean, safe company vehicle.
• Follow company safety standards and OSHA and DOT requirements, complete ongoing technical training, and support a team culture built on safety, accountability, and helping one another succeed.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of forklift repair or related equipment experience, strong mechanical knowledge, and the ability to diagnose and solve technical problems.
• A high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and certification on at least 65% of the Briggs Equipment product line.
• Trade school training and Hyster-Yale technician certifications are a plus.
• Experience using precision measuring tools, the ability to lift up to 75 pounds, and your own tools.
• Welding or fabrication experience is a plus.
• A strong work ethic, excellent customer service skills, and a safety-first mindset.
• You'll be comfortable traveling to customer sites, working in a shop environment, and participating in an on-call schedule as needed.
