About the role

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, and maintain electronic communication systems, including VOIP, SIP, computer, and networking systems.
• Perform final hookup and programming of electronics equipment for new installations.
• Respond promptly to customer service-related issues and communicate system performance to customers.
• Test and document system readings; update customer files.
• Troubleshoot and repair electronic components.
• Handle on-call duties on a regularly scheduled basis.
• Train and instruct customers on proper equipment use.
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.
• Operate test equipment: Volt Meter, Ohm Meter, Oscilloscope, Spectrum Analyzer, Multimeter, and Impedance Meter.
• Assist with preventive maintenance of customer equipment.
• Accurately track time sheets, service/installation tickets, and inventory items.
• Comply fully with company and customer safety programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned by company management.

Requirements

• Two-year electronics degree or equivalent combination of education and 1–3 years of related field experience.
• Working knowledge of communications systems; experience with VoIP, telephony, data networks, wireless data, fire alarm, CCTV, sound systems, or nurse call applications preferred.
• Cisco and Microsoft certifications desirable.
• High school diploma or equivalent; ability to read and write at basic English proficiency and perform basic math functions.
• Ability to read CAD-generated prints, building blueprints, and riser diagrams.
• Solid grasp of basic electronics/electrical theory; formal instruction preferred.
• Proficient with PCs and demonstrated aptitude in simple engineering and construction.
• Valid and current driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Preferred: Associate’s Degree in Electronics, IT, or Computer Programming.
• Preferred certifications: NSCA CEST, NICET, RCDD, and factory training.

Travel

Some out-of-town travel may be required.

Physical, Mental, and Environmental Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, climb, sit, and use hands and fingers.
• Light lifting of objects up to 50 lbs.
• Reaching, grasping, and carrying activities required.
• Moderate noise level in the work environment; occasional outdoor work subject to seasonal temperature fluctuations.
