Technician 1
About the role
HII Unmanned Systems is seeking a Production Technician II to join their team. This position involves performing a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and/or optical areas. The ideal candidate should have an Associate Degree or equivalent with 0 years of experience, or a High School diploma with 2 years of relevant experience. A government clearance is required.
Responsibilities
- Perform integration, assembly, and test of new systems vehicles and auxiliary equipment from work instructions and assembly drawings
- Read and understand technical schematics
- Perform testing and troubleshooting with engineering to identify and correct problems with vehicles and auxiliary equipment
- Document changes to configuration as appropriate
- Perform all administrative duties and documentation according to company policies and procedures
- Have routine computer skills (directory structure, applications)
- Absorb software and firmware files to vehicle
- Aid in preparation for field operations
- Identify and locate ground faults
- Perform cable and harness assembly, including re-termination of crimps and connectors
- Perform basic trouble shooting and test through working knowledge and use of power supplies, DVMs, and oscilloscopes, and basic schematic and wiring diagram interpretation
- Perform visual inspection of circuit card assemblies, cable and harness assemblies, and product sub-assemblies
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Must be able to obtain and maintain a government clearance. Bonus points for J-STD soldering certification, IPC 610 certification, IPC 620 certification, or Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License.
Qualifications
- Associates Degree or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline and 0 years experience
- High school or equivalent and two years related experience
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government clearance
- Ability to perform routine computer tasks
- Ability to load software and firmware files to vehicle
- Ability to assist in field operations
- Ability to identify and locate ground faults
- Ability to perform cable and harness assembly
- Ability to perform basic trouble shooting and test
- Ability to perform visual inspections
Skills
- Soldering certification (J-STD)
- IPC 610 certification for the Acceptability of Electronic assemblies
- IPC 620 certification for Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies
- A&P License
- Electrical testing and diagnostic experience

Pay
The anticipated salary range for this role is $41,316.00 - $59,022.00. When extending an offer, HII's Mission Technologies division takes a variety of factors into consideration which include, but are not limited to, the role's function and a candidate's education or training, work experience, and key skills.

This position offers a Full Time/Hourly/Non-Exempt schedule.
