Technical Writer Intern

Location: Manitowoc, WI

Timing: Summer 2027 Internship

Overview

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Technical Writer Intern to support our Sub‑Assembly team in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. This internship is ideal for a student interested in engineering, manufacturing, process improvement, and communicating technical information in a clear, user‑friendly way.

Responsibilities

• Review and update team member standard work to reflect current processes and practices.
• Organize, revise, and maintain technical documentation to ensure it is accurate, clear, and easy to follow.
• Assist Team Lead 2 with updating digital data used to track key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Learn how operational data is collected, displayed, and used to support manufacturing performance.
• Help develop materials and provide support for training team leads and team members on interpreting digital KPI data.
• Collaborate with team leads, team members, and cross‑functional partners to gather information and confirm process details.
• Identify opportunities to improve the clarity, consistency, and usability of standard work and digital data tools.
• Support additional Sub‑Assembly projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering, preferably Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering; other majors may be considered.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain information clearly to different audiences.
• Interest in manufacturing operations, process documentation, continuous improvement, or production data.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to organize information accurately.
• Comfort working with digital tools, spreadsheets, and data.
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with team members.
• A positive, adaptable approach to learning and supporting change.
