Technical Writer
About the Role
The UX Instructional Design team is seeking a contract Technical Writer with hands-on experience in crafting instructions for use. Their key focus will be supporting and maintaining the user guides for the Omnipod portfolio. You will also support the migration of content into a recently implemented content management tool, Madcap IXIA. This role requires a blend of technical, organizational, and communication skills. A strong background in technical writing is must and at least 1-2 years of working in user-facing instructional manuals and in Adobe Creative Cloud. Experience in a structured component content management system (DITA-based) is preferred. This is a highly collaborative role where you'll partner with multiple cross-functional teams distributed across the country and globally. You will use your organization and positive communication skills to work strategically with other team leaders and members across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Support the upkeep and ongoing development of user guides in multiple languages, markets, and configurations.
- Adhere to and improve upon existing content processes and workflows.
- Ensure process compliance with cross-functional stakeholder requirements across the business.
- Support implementation and migration into component content management systems (CCMS) to ensure content is up-to-date and aligned with organizational and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with content strategists, labeling designers, regulatory leads, medical SMEs, systems engineers, product teams and others.

Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Technical Communication, Library Science, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in technical writing, content administration, technical documentation, or CMS management.
- Proficiency with Microsoft tools and applications; including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Proficiency with Adobe InDesign, Adobe Cloud, Adobe Acrobat.
- Experience with collaboration tools such as Miro, Jira, Confluence, and Smartsheet.
- Familiarity with DITA and structured content management systems.
- Healthcare, life sciences, or diabetes experience preferred.
- Must have ability to understand medical, clinical, and technical aspects of diabetes management and drug delivery products.
