The Applications Specialist will provide technical support and training to customers, focusing on the installation, training, and troubleshooting of Wavetronix products. The role involves travel to various locations within the Dallas area.
Responsibilities
- Help solve customer technical problems and professionally guide them through the installation and support of new and existing products.
- Travel 50% or more of the month to fulfill onsite duties in the Dallas, TX office.
- Provide technical training to up to 10 people on Wavetronix products either in the field or in the office.
- Conduct technical site surveys and diagnose errors or technical problems, determining appropriate solutions.
- Document processes and produce detailed trip reports.
- Cooperate with the team and share information across the organization.
- Communicate effectively with customers and colleagues, understanding and explaining technical procedures and processes.
- Manage all on-site installations/configurations of products.
- Support customers both in the field and over the phone.
- Keep track of current projects and support cases in the CRM system.
- Have a basic understanding of networking.
- Be intrinsically motivated and enjoy working with customers.
- Have clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Be self-motivated and enjoy working on and with teams.
- Have previous field service experience in traffic signal/ITS cabinets for at least 5 years.
- Have a technical degree (EE, EET) or relevant certifications in the ITS/traffic industry preferred.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of technical sales experience.
- Ability to present to large groups.
- Strong self-starter attitude.
- Positive relationship with Wavetronix customers.
- Effective communication skills, including email, phone, and in-person interactions.
- Willingness to get hands-on and solve customer problems.
- Basic understanding of networking.
- Intrinsically motivated and enjoy working with customers.

- Previous field service experience in traffic signal/ITS cabinets for at least 5 years.
- Experience providing technical training to up to 10 people on Wavetronix products.
- Experience managing installations/configurations of products.
- Experience supporting customers both in the field and over the phone.
- Experience keeping track of current projects and support cases in the CRM system.
- Experience conducting technical site surveys and diagnosing errors or technical problems.
- Experience documenting processes and producing detailed trip reports.

Training Schedule
- 3 Month Milestones: Understand company core values, strategies, and initiatives; demonstrate functional knowledge to troubleshoot, test, repair, and service Wavetronix technical equipment; effectively use mobile tools and applications; have a positive relationship with Wavetronix customers; comprehend customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations to the client; effectively communicate and cooperate with Technical Services and share information across the organization.
- 6 Month Milestones: Master installation and configuration of Wavetronix products; demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot, test, repair, and service technical equipment; demonstrate functional knowledge of Wavetronix non-core product line.
- 12 Month Milestones: Ability to install, configure, troubleshoot, and demonstrate all Wavetronix products; learn intersection and controller cabinet basic operation; perform at least 5 solo technical customer visits.
