Technical Sales Manager
Bluefors Cryocooler Technologies, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Technical Sales Manager to join our growing Sales team. In this high-impact role, you will build and lead relationships with academic and research customers in the quantum technology field while representing cutting-edge cryogenic technologies used by some of the world’s most innovative universities and research laboratories.

You will have the opportunity to combine your technical expertise, customer focus, and commercial skills to help advance technologies at the forefront of quantum research. This role serves as an important liaison between Sales and Engineering, sharing customer feedback and market insights that can help inform product development and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Understand customer requirements and develop technical solutions that align with their scientific and operational needs.
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, demonstrating the value of Bluefors solutions and helping customers understand how our technologies can support their research goals.
- Conduct product demonstrations and technical presentations, respond to customer questions, and provide knowledgeable guidance throughout the sales process.
- Develop and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships by understanding their challenges, identifying opportunities, and recommending appropriate solutions.
- Serve as a liaison between Sales and Engineering, sharing customer feedback and market insights to support product development and improvement.
- Support the preparation of technical proposals, customer documentation, and reports.
- Stay informed about industry trends, market developments, and competitors’ offerings to help maintain Bluefors’ competitive position.
- Support long-term technology collaboration with customers in the quantum technology and scientific research communities.
- Travel as needed to meet with customers, attend technical discussions, conduct demonstrations, and support sales activities.
Requirements
- Minimum MSc degree in applied or technical physics, or strong relevant experience in quantum computing or a related field.
- Proven experience in technical sales or sales engineering, preferably involving scientific instrumentation or other highly technical products.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex technical information into clear, compelling solutions for a wide range of audiences.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities, and taking ownership of customer needs from initial discussions through solution development.
- Strong problem-solving and strategic thinking skills to identify customer opportunities and contribute to achieving sales targets.
- Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
- Positive, hands-on attitude and a collaborative approach to working with customers and internal teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Scientific research or R&D background, particularly with experience understanding the challenges faced by researchers working with advanced scientific equipment.
- Documented experience selling scientific instrumentation or other complex technical solutions.
- Knowledge of cryogenic equipment, particularly dilution refrigerators.
- Experience working directly with universities, research laboratories, physicists, engineers, or quantum technology organizations.

Pay
Salary Range: $105,000 – $130,000 annually, plus bonus.
Work Environment
This role operates in and out of a professional office environment, with work occasionally conducted in a manufacturing setting. The position involves interaction with both internal and external customers in a professional, courteous manner. While in the manufacturing environment, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, humid conditions, fumes, airborne particles, heat, cold, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level is usually moderately loud, and mandatory PPE must be worn as required.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, and have hand and finger dexterity. The employee is regularly required to see, talk, and hear. The employee may occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee will frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
