About the Role

As a SpaceX recruiter, you will run a full desk with a variety of duties and responsibilities focused on the sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding of top talent candidates to fill mission-critical positions. In many cases, you are candidates’ first encounter with SpaceX, and it is your job to represent the company with professionalism, pride, and enthusiasm. We work in teams and focus on collaboration yet require a high degree of autonomy. While you are not expected to work alone, you are expected to show initiative, take responsibility, and run with tasks to completion.

Your day-to-day routine will change often as hiring priorities shift, but there is a basic set of activities you can expect to handle daily:

Responsibilities

  • Meet with client groups to discuss headcount, new requisitions, hiring strategy, and/or interview feedback—acting as a true partner rather than an order taker.
  • Screen candidates who apply to requisitions—leveraging the growing SpaceX brand to identify stellar applicants.
  • Source candidates, as the best candidates are often those not actively looking.
  • Discuss screened candidates with client groups and recommend top candidates for interviews.
  • Give tours to candidates before their onsite interviews.
  • Attend interviews alongside client groups to evaluate candidates from an additional perspective.
  • Initiate the offer process for approved candidates, including background checks, offer negotiation, and extending offer letters.

Some days will involve coordinating multiple onsite interviews, while others will focus on filling your candidate pipeline through screening and sourcing. The pace is fast, and no two days are the same, but your core responsibility is to attract, organize, and manage the flow of the country’s most talented individuals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 1+ years of recruiting experience; or associate degree and 2+ years of experience; or 3+ years of professional recruiting experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Available to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
  • This position requires being onsite full-time—hybrid and remote work will not be considered.
  • To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C.1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C.1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • 2+ years of technical recruiting experience.
  • 2+ years of SGA (Sales, General, and Administrative) recruiting experience.
  • Experience with in-house recruiting.
  • Experience with high-volume recruiting.
  • Experience recruiting electrical, mechanical, and aerospace engineers.
  • Experience recruiting skilled labor.
  • Strong tenure with demonstrated success in recruiting roles.
  • Full life-cycle recruiting experience, from sourcing to closing.
  • Comfort with reviewing, evaluating, and reporting on recruiting data.
  • Ability to distinguish between the top 50% and the top 5% of talent within their respective fields.
  • Demonstrated expertise in non-standard recruiting methods: cold calling, organizing ad-hoc networking events, identifying industry experts, and creating unique targeted sourcing campaigns.
  • Comfortable interfacing directly with hiring managers, including director and VP-level technical leaders.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with both hiring managers and candidates.
  • Ability to accurately present—but not oversell—candidates to client groups; influence decisions by acting as the subject matter expert on talent while avoiding dictating client decisions.
  • Ability to multi-task and operate with little direction while remaining an active team member.

  • Level 1: $95,000.00 - $125,000.00
  • Level 2: $110,000.00 - $150,000.00

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience. Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
