About the role

Neuron Industries is seeking an experienced Technical Recruiter to play a critical role in building the team that is rebuilding the industrial automation stack for the AI era. You will run a full desk focused on sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding top talent, and you will own the full-cycle process from intake and sourcing strategy through closing top-tier candidates. You will recruit across a wide variety of deep-tech disciplines, including hardware, embedded, AI, and industrial controls, alongside go-to-market, operational, and leadership roles. You will work closely with the founders to identify areas of improvement in the recruiting process and implement measures that drive innovation, efficiency, and standards of excellence in our hiring practices. You will also play a part in new initiatives such as outreach events and employer branding. The right person for this role thrives in a fast-paced, high-ambiguity environment, excels at securing the top 5% of talent across disciplines, and takes extreme ownership over outcomes. You will have a no job too big or small mentality, a mission-driven mindset, a team-oriented attitude, and zero ego.

What you'll do

• Own full-cycle recruiting for every open req: sourcing, screening, interview loops, debriefs, references, offers, and closes.
• Source outbound. Build the target lists, write the outreach, and work the LA hard-tech meetups, career fairs, and trade shows. Most of our hires will come from a list you built rather than an inbox.
• Screen technically across our stack: PCBA and industrial I/O, real-time firmware, applied AI, and industrial controls. Learn the domains well enough to talk about the work rather than match keywords.
• Build the hiring process: scorecards, structured interview loops, take-home design, and calibration with the founders.
• Run offers and closes: comp and equity conversations, competing offers, references, and start dates.
• Keep one honest pipeline, with every candidate and every stage current and headcount numbers the founders can plan against.
• Work AI-first: AI every day for sourcing research, list building, and drafts. Nothing goes to a candidate that reads like a bot.

What you'll bring

• 4+ years of full-cycle recruiting, including in-house time on technical roles. You've closed engineers, not just coordinated them.
• Proven outbound sourcing. You can walk us through a hire you found cold: the search, the first message, and why they replied.
• Enough technical literacy to hold your own with hardware and software engineers, and the appetite to go deeper. You don't need to have written firmware, but you do need to know what makes a firmware hire good.
• You write your own outreach, you keep it short and specific, and you measure reply rates.
• You hold the bar under pressure, bringing fewer and better candidates rather than warm bodies when a req runs long.
• You are fluent in comp and equity, and you can explain an option grant to someone who has never held one.
• On-site in Torrance, CA, five days a week.
• AI-forward: you use AI daily in real recruiting work and know where to trust it. The screen still has to be yours.

• Hardware recruiting for electrical, mechanical, embedded, or technician roles, in deep tech, aerospace, robotics, or semiconductors.
• First-recruiter experience at an early-stage company.
• University and early-career pipelines, or an employee referral program you built.
• ATS selection and setup from scratch.
