Technical Recruiter
About the role
Icarus is seeking a dedicated recruiter to own and manage the full-cycle recruiting process for engineering and manufacturing roles. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience in technical recruiting at a hardware company or similar field, with a proven track record of sourcing and closing senior engineers.
Responsibilities
- Own full-cycle recruiting for engineering and manufacturing roles, from intake through close.
- Source creatively to build a deep pipeline, identifying talent from aerospace, robotics, and hardware companies.
- Write outreach that senior engineers actually answer, and carry candidates through the process yourself.
- Partner with hiring managers to define what 'strong' looks like before the first screen, and build the scorecards and interview loops that hold that bar.
- Own and report the recruiting funnel. Track pipeline KPIs, find where candidates fall out, and fix it.
- Close exceptional engineers against offers from larger, better-capitalized companies.
- Develop a deep understanding of what Icarus builds, enough to be credible with the engineers you are recruiting.
- Improve the recruiting function as you run it.
Requirements
You must have 2+ years of full lifecycle technical recruiting experience at a hardware company, or hiring mechanical, electrical, embedded, or software engineers. Experience owning and managing a high-volume req load is essential. You should demonstrate sourcing ability, having pointed to specific senior engineers you found, engaged, and closed. Genuine technical curiosity is required, even if you do not have an engineering degree. Comfort operating without process and building it as you go is necessary. Fluency with data is expected, including tracking funnel metrics, diagnosing bottlenecks, and using numbers to argue for changes. A serious commitment to feedback and growth is also crucial. The drive to perform in a fast-paced, high-intensity environment is a must.
Qualifications
You are expected to understand what Icarus builds and to speak about it accurately. Full extreme ownership is expected, as this is a high-trust, no-BS team where everyone pulls their weight. We want builders, not hand-holding, fluff, or fake projects. Real problems, real data, and real results are valued. Thriving under pressure, learning fast, and solving problems across functions are key. Moving fast, expecting results, and an obsession with quality and speed are also important.
