Technical Publications Senior Manager

Overview

The Technical Publications Senior Manager will lead the development and execution of global content strategy, ensuring that technical documentation is a competitive advantage for Hitachi Vantara's products.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the long-term vision for technical publications, aligning content strategy with product roadmaps and company OKRs.
• Recruit, mentor, and scale a high-performing team of technical writers, information architects, and localization specialists.
• Modernize content infrastructure, implementing and managing modern CCMS platforms, AI-driven search, and automated publishing pipelines to increase efficiency.
• Bridge the gap between complex engineering, product management, and end-users, ensuring documentation is integrated seamlessly into the user journey.
• Establish industry-standard KPIs to measure content effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience in technical writing, with at least 6+ years managing global technical writing teams in the unstructured data storage (S3 and NAS/File), SaaS, or hardware industry.
• Technical Acumen: Ability to understand complex technical architectures, APIs, and developer tools.
• Familiarity with modern authoring tools (e.g., SDL Tridion, Git, Markdown-based workflows).
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to distill complex technical concepts into clear, actionable, and user-centric content.
• Data-Driven Mindset: Experience using analytics and customer feedback to iterate on content and prove ROI.
