Technical Publications Senior Manager

Overview

The Technical Publications Senior Manager will lead the global content strategy and documentation teams, ensuring that documentation is a competitive advantage. This role requires strategic leadership, team management, process optimization, cross-functional collaboration, and a data-driven mindset.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the long-term vision for technical publications, aligning content strategy with product roadmaps and company OKRs.
• Recruit, mentor, and scale a high-performing team of technical writers, information architects, and localization specialists.
• Modernize content infrastructure, implementing and managing modern CCMS platforms, AI-driven search, and automated publishing pipelines to increase efficiency.
• Partner closely with Engineering, Product Management, UX, and Customer Success to ensure documentation is integrated seamlessly into the user journey.
• Establish industry-standard KPIs to measure content effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience in technical writing, with at least 6+ years managing global technical writing teams in the unstructured data storage (S3 and NAS/File), SaaS, or hardware industry.
• Ability to understand complex technical architectures, APIs, and developer tools.
• Familiarity with modern authoring tools such as SDL Tridion, Git, and Markdown-based workflows.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to distill complex technical concepts into clear, actionable, and user-centric content.
• Experience using analytics and customer feedback to iterate on content and prove ROI.
