About the role
The Technical Project Manager drives a high-powered, high-efficacy customer delivery process—from planning through to execution. You will work closely with Sales, Engineering, Customer Success, and other internal teams to ensure the success of our utility customers. You will provide data-driven project governance and help grow and measure new opportunities for the business.
Responsibilities
- Leads and project manages the customer onboarding experience, providing a best-in-class experience.
- Drives internal teams to deliver the product to customers on schedule and within scope.
- Utilizes standards, processes, documentation, and systems to efficiently manage onboarding new customers, project planning, requirements gathering, resourcing, budgeting, change management, risk management, and project closure.
- Manages and maintains ongoing delivery processes, timelines, risk mitigation, and client communications.
- Achieves an understanding of the GridX product capabilities and technical integration processes to guide customers throughout the delivery process.
- Manages stakeholders to ensure that all customer requirements are scoped and delivered on time and within budget.
- Communicates with internal and external executives regarding project status on a weekly or ad hoc basis. Ensures customer expectations are properly set according to project constraints, updates, and challenges.
- Owns and evolves the project management function, including methodologies, automation techniques, and policies.
- Adopts a consultant mindset, effectively communicating risks, developing mitigation strategies, and strategically driving a project while maintaining good faith with customers.
- Follows and develops standard project management methodologies and best practices.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software product/project/client management experience with a track record of success delivering complex, cross-functional projects with large enterprise customers.
- Experience working on large, complex technology integration projects requiring excellent communication skills, attention to detail and planning, and multi-channel communication requirements.
- Experience working with utility customers and/or in the energy industry.
- Strong project management skills in a fast-paced, tech environment requiring adaptability and high-quality performance.
- Mastery of multitasking with repeatable tool sets and systems.
- Creative and willing to push the envelope.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and allocate resources effectively.
- Implementation of quality assurance processes to ensure consistent and high-quality customer interactions.
- Ability to work across time zones and with offshore teams in a dynamic start-up setting.
- Effective communicator and skilled facilitator.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in management consulting or strategic account management, preferably with a software/technology company.
- Experience developing or implementing technology roadmaps and portfolios.
- Experience with energy efficiency and program implementation is highly desired.
- Experience working with a start-up.
- Interest in Clean Energy, Climate Change, Decarbonization, or Renewable Energy is a big plus.
- Project Management Professional Certification (PMP).
Pay
Compensation is based on your specific location, and for this position, may range from $110,000 to $140,000/year base salary + equity & benefits/perks.
