About the role
A leading live entertainment and media company is looking for a Technical Project Manager. You'll run a varied portfolio of technology projects across HR, finance, AI, and new tech initiatives. This is a hands-on, consultative role for someone with large enterprise experience who also brings a startup mindset. You should be comfortable pushing back with sound reasoning, asking the right questions, and finding creative, cost-conscious solutions. The team is collaborative and fast-moving, and the role has a clear path to full-time employment and potential future leadership.
Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of about 10 concurrent projects for client-facing, internal, and compliance work, ranging from small, quick-turn efforts to large, complex initiatives
- Act as a consultative partner to tech-savvy business stakeholders by raising options, risks, and alternatives they may not have considered
- Recommend out-of-the-box and native platform functionality over costly custom builds, balancing budget, quality, and long-term maintenance
- Ask critical "why" questions, work through competing priorities and organizational politics, and turn senior leadership requests into realistic timelines
- Protect system integrity by making sure changes are scoped, tested, and governed rather than made ad hoc
- Drive adoption of a new enterprise PM tool and help the team stay flexible through the transition
- Contribute ideas to improve team processes, collaboration, and morale
Requirements
- 7–10+ years of technical project management experience, with a minimum of 5 years
- Experience at both large enterprise organizations and smaller or startup environments
- Track record managing projects across multiple industries, business functions, or project types
- Strong critical thinking and communication skills, including the ability to read a room and present confidently to large, senior audiences
- Proficiency with standard PM tools such as Wrike, Asana, Jira, or similar, plus Zoom and Microsoft Teams
- Ability to manage scope and budget creatively without sacrificing quality
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future
Qualifications
- PMP certification
- Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM, or similar)
- Experience with HR, finance, or AI technology implementations
- Background in media, entertainment, sports, or creative industries
- Interest in mentoring junior project managers
