About the Role
Tesla's Gigafactory New York is seeking a Technical Program Manager to support cross-functional Engineering teams and site-wide initiatives. This role will manage projects for Controls, Test, Industrial, and Manufacturing Engineering teams in a fast-paced environment. Self-motivation and consistency are critical, as is a passion for Tesla's mission, a bias for action, and a focus on collaborative solutions.
Responsibilities
- Manage program delivery on continuous improvement and capital projects as part of the Engineering team.
- Collaborate with program, design, safety, quality, industrial engineering, facilities, materials, planning, NPI, tech writing, operations, sustaining, and maintenance teams to ensure alignment and timely completion of actions.
- Support the Manufacturing Engineering team by organizing and collaborating with engineering resources to free up their bandwidth for engineering tasks.
- Lead daily standups to discuss goals and risks during equipment installation and commissioning to maximize progress.
- Forecast risks to cost, scope, and time, and gather resources to mitigate them.
- Establish a project structure, track actions, due dates, and assignees, and ensure timely completion.
- Identify the critical path and escalate issues that gate progress as they arise.
- Maintain a positive attitude and strong work ethic that reflects Tesla's mission, philosophy, and goals.
- Be open to feedback and demonstrate a drive to learn and continuously improve.
- Demonstrate experience with data analysis and standard project management data visualization tools.
- Ensure quality, safety, and documentation are prioritized in all aspects of the project; consider environment, health, and safety in all activities and manufacturing validations.
Requirements
- Degree in Engineering or equivalent relevant experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical (management) teams.
- Strong prioritization skills and ability to stay organized under pressure.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong bias for action and interest in improving processes.
- Experience in a Production/Manufacturing environment, capital equipment, and new product introduction is preferred.
- Ability to adapt to changes quickly and be effective as a matrix manager.

Pay
- Associate Technical Program Manager: $87,120 - $130,680/annual salary
- Technical Program Manager: $100,800 - $151,200/annual salary
- Senior Technical Program Manager: $130,320 - $195,480/annual salary
- Staff Technical Program Manager: $151,920 - $227,880/annual salary
- Senior Staff Technical Program Manager: $172,800 - $259,200/annual salary
- Principal Technical Program Manager: $201,600 - $302,400/annual salary
Pay offered may vary depending on market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package may also include cash and stock awards.
